Her sensitivity, urgency, and compassion during such a vulnerable moment exemplify her dedication to patient-centered care.
I work in registration and have personally witnessed numerous interactions Marcy has with patients while working as the PIVOT RN. As the first face patients see and interact with when they come through the door, she consistently does a phenomenal job representing our organization.
Marcy brings a calm, kind, and reassuring energy that immediately puts patients at ease. As a bilingual team member, she helps create a more welcoming and inclusive experience for a large portion of our patient population. She is highly aware of what is happening at the front desk and is quick to step in to answer questions or help de-escalate situations, especially during long wait times. Her presence keeps everything running smoothly and truly helps keep the train on the tracks.
One interaction that stood out was when a SANE patient checked in. Marcy immediately assessed how she could support him and took steps to ensure he felt safe and at ease while waiting to be roomed. She secured his personal belongings, placed him in a more private and comfortable area, and promptly contacted the SANE nurse to avoid any delay in care. Her sensitivity, urgency, and compassion during such a vulnerable moment exemplifies her dedication to patient centered care.
Marcy's compassion, professionalism, and commitment to creating a supportive patient experience make her an excellent and deserving candidate for the DAISY Award.
