Kristi L. Dupin not only does her job well, but also embodies what true patient advocacy and care in Army Medicine should look like. Navigating the EFMP process as a Soldier and a parent can be overwhelming, confusing, and honestly intimidating. There are multiple forms, strict timelines, and real consequences tied to assignments and family stability.
During this process, I felt the weight of making sure my child’s needs were properly documented and understood by the system — something that directly affects not only my career, but my family’s wellbeing and future. Ms. Dupin never treated the process as paperwork. She treated it as people. From the very beginning, she took the time to explain every step, every form, and every requirement in a way that removed uncertainty and stress. She did not rush conversations, and she never made me feel like just another case file. She anticipated problems before they happened, answered questions before I knew I needed to ask them, and consistently followed up to ensure nothing fell through the cracks.
What stood out the most was her advocacy. Kristi went above and beyond normal expectations — coordinating, clarifying requirements, and ensuring accuracy so that my child’s needs were fully understood and properly represented. She understood the impact EFMP has on assignments, stability, and a Soldier’s peace of mind, and she treated that responsibility seriously. In my 12+ years in the Army, I have interacted with many offices and many professionals. I can confidently say this has been the highest level of care and dedication I have experienced. She did not just help process paperwork — she reduced stress on a military family and allowed me to focus on my duties knowing my family was supported.
