Sareeta Horton, a student at Chamberlain University, School of Nursing, Troy Campus, has been selected as a DAISY Award honoree for exemplifying compassion, dedication, and excellence in nursing. She was nominated by faculty for going above and beyond in professionalism and her dedication to her studies with active peer involvement, while caring for her family. Her generosity, leadership, and calming spirit do not go unnoticed, leaving an impact on those around her.

One particularly meaningful example shared in the nomination described how she would care for her father by hooking him up to his dialysis machines while at home, staying by his side for the duration of his treatment, to provide the best care for him and to maintain his safety. Through this and countless other moments, Sareeta has proven to be a shining example of what the DAISY Award represents-compassionate care, commitment to learning, and a profound influence on the nursing community.
