Quinn Dessert-Payne was the nurse on duty when my son came in as transport. My son was very in and out due to the meds and pain he was experiencing. Quinn had him set up in what felt like minutes, took time to explain everything to us as far as what she was doing, and what the likely next steps were (visits from surgical team, etc). Quinn seemed to truly understand my concern and navigated the worries of me, my son, and his wife while providing great care and an awesome bedside manner.

Quinn, thankfully, was his nurse for his first 3 nights, including the time both before and after surgery. Quinn never left him lingering in pain for any amount of time and explained what she was administering and why when she was. She was able to answer questions succinctly despite my and my DIL being sleep-deprived. Quinn made sure to let him know when new orders came in and made us feel like an important part of my son's care. She never once treated us or our questions as a burden.

Despite being busy, we at times felt like my son was her only patient. Quinn is an amazing nurse, and we actually got a little nervous when she got the day off. Quinn is sweet, understanding, patient, polite, kind, and really knows her stuff. Thinking back, she would be managing so many things at once that in the moment we hadn't even noticed because of how great she was at making my son feel important. Quinn is the person I feel anyone would want as their nurse if they ever were facing something scary. Quinn connected and interacted beautifully with my son and his wife, as my son and his wife are of a younger generation but intelligent, and Quinn completely made the big, scary things seem not so scary for them.
