During a very difficult and emotional time, Bree made a lasting impact that I will never forget.
When I first arrived, my family and I were overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of what to expect. Hospitals can feel intimidating and stressful, but Bree immediately changed that atmosphere the moment she walked into the room.
She greeted us with a warm smile, introduced herself, and took the time to explain everything in a way that made us feel comfortable and reassured.
What stood out the most was that Bree never treated me like just another task on her list. She treated me like a person who mattered. She would pause, sit down, and truly listen. Even during what I'm sure were very busy shifts, she made me and my family feel like we were her priority.
One moment that truly captured Bree’s compassion was when I was feeling particularly anxious and discouraged about my results. Bree noticed immediately.
Instead of simply continuing with her routine, she took a few extra minutes to sit beside me, speak gently, and offer reassurance. She explained what was happening, answered every question with patience, and reminded us that we were not alone.
That small moment of kindness meant more than she possibly realized—it brought calm to a situation filled with fear.
Throughout my entire experience, Bree consistently went above and beyond whenever I had her as my nurse. My family and I were very blessed to have Bree as my nurse three out of the five longest days of my life.
She checked in frequently, advocated for my needs, and made sure both myself and my family felt informed and supported. Her clinical knowledge was evident, but what really set her apart was her genuine empathy and the way she cared for the emotional well-being of everyone in the room.
Bree Franco represents everything the DAISY Award stands for. She combines exceptional nursing skill with deep compassion and humanity. Because of her, a very challenging experience for me and my family felt a little more manageable and a lot more hopeful.
