To me, Yvonne Bruce does everything willingly and cheerfully on the subacute rehab floor of the Lyons, CLC. This nurse is fully skilled and compassionately performs all of the regular activities of a nurse when needed. I have seen Yvonne helping Veterans with challenging medical issues in different areas.

After turning 75, I have been in many different hospitals and rehab centers. Yvonne is one of the best nurses I have ever encountered. This nurse carefully and patiently dispenses and explains medications, provides wound care, and takes and shows vital signs. Yvonne  monitors the administration of IV antibiotics and ensures ostomy appliance use due to my ileostomy.

Furthermore, Yvonne thoroughly bathed me as I was temporarily bedridden while I await a kyphoplasty to repair the fractured spinal disc. This nurse assisted in checking and preparing me for any appointments I had. What a wonderful personality and sense of humor. I have seen Yvonne willingly work extra shifts, knowing that they must be very tired. This nurse always continues with the same professionalism and work ethic. Yvonne is diligent, exceptional, and passionate in all that is needed and never complains. The efforts that Yvonne shows are above and beyond the call of duty. They exemplifies and enacts the principles of "I CARE", daily.
