Macel pulled up two chairs outside my room, made my sister sit down, and then talked with her.
I have cancer and am at the end of life. I have had two visits to the ED in the past two months. Macel Apodaca has been one of my nurses each time. Of all the nurses that have been a part of my care, she has been far and above the most impressive. It does not take long to realize how caring and compassionate she is. She listens with a kind and caring heart. She is quick to give a hug and words of encouragement and validation.

When I was here previously, my sister was distraught over me, and Macel pulled up two chairs outside my room, made my sister sit down, and then talked with her. She listened to my sister's concerns regarding me and assured her that she (Macel) would be very attentive to me and my care, and she absolutely did that! I realized that most of the time the ED is understaffed and the nurses are pulled in many different directions caring for many patients. Macel made me feel as if I was her only concern. She exudes kindness and genuine concern. So, for Macel's kindness, attentiveness, concern, care, and genuine love of her patients, I commend her.
