I would like to nominate my nurse for the DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional care, compassion, and professionalism she provided to my husband, J.

When we arrived at the hospital, we were scared and uncertain. J had been experiencing worsening shortness of breath, episodes of low oxygen levels, and increasing difficulty with everyday activities. Despite normal test results, we knew something was wrong, and the situation was frightening for both of us.

From the moment our nurse entered the room, she treated J as more than just a patient; she took the time to listen carefully, acknowledge our concerns, and provide reassurance without dismissing our fears. Her calm demeanor and genuine compassion helped ease the anxiety we were feeling during a very stressful time.

What stood out most was her attentiveness. She consistently checked on J, monitored his condition closely, and made sure that every question we had was answered. She never made us feel rushed, as if we were just another room on her assignment. Instead, she made us feel seen, heard, and cared for.

Her kindness extended beyond medical care. She recognized the emotional toll the situation was taking on our family and offered encouragement and reassurance when we needed it most. The combination of her clinical excellence, attention to detail, and heartfelt compassion made a lasting impact on us.

Nurses like her remind families why healthcare is more than medicine--- it is also about human connection. During one of our most vulnerable moments, she provided comfort, dignity, and exceptional care. We will never forget the difference she made for J and for our family.

For these reasons, I believe she is truly deserving of the DAISY Award
