Justin Luna currently serves in a nursing leadership role in our organization. Additionally, he serves on several of the organization’s committees, which include the Franciscan Center for Professional Development, Nurse Practice Council, and Patient Experience. Justin has also assisted with several community events, including the Heart Healthy Events offered throughout the year.

When describing this nurse leader, several core values he consistently demonstrates include compassion, commitment, professionalism, teamwork, humility, and always advocating for patients and team members. Several team members who work with Justin provided examples of these core values in this nomination.

There was a night shift with a need for more critical care nurses due to the number of cardiac procedures. Without further thought, and having already worked a portion of the day shift, he came in and took a patient load. Justin not only cared for critical patients but also used this opportunity to educate and continue building relationships with the newer nurses.

The second example of this nurse leader’s commitment was around the Christmas holidays. Justin collaborated with his team to paint holiday art on each patient’s window. This was a beautiful gesture and much appreciated by the patients and their families. He truly represents our organization’s mission and is always going above and beyond for many.
