She is consistently kind, supportive, and nonjudgmental, helping me reflect and grow while ensuring both patient and caregiver needs are met.
I would like to recognize Amber for her exceptional leadership, urgency, and support.
During a recent shift on 7S, I was caring for a complex patient with multiple status changes. I contacted Amber while she was managing another high-acuity patient, and she came as quickly as she could. Before I could even give report, my patient began aspirating and desaturating. Amber immediately responded with urgency—quickly gathering supplies, initiating a rapid response, and calling in additional support. Her swift actions helped stabilize the patient quickly and safely.
What stood out most was her ability to recognize the severity of the situation without any prior details. Her response validated my concerns and ensured timely, appropriate care.
At the same time, my new admission arrived. Amber recognized I was overwhelmed and stepped in to settle the patient, allowing me to remain focused on the rapid response. This support lifted a significant burden.
As a new graduate nurse, I am incredibly grateful to have Amber as both a charge nurse and mentor. She is consistently kind, supportive, and nonjudgmental, helping me reflect and grow while ensuring both patient and caregiver needs are met.
This is just one example—Amber shows this same level of excellence, compassion, and teamwork every shift. She is truly exceptional, and we are so fortunate to have her.
