May 2024 Honoree
Abbey R Evje, BSN, RN
Two years ago, I was in Braselton Hospital for 46 days. I had three major abdominal surgeries. Abbey was my night shift nurse on several occasions. Night is the loneliest, longest, and most helpless time of a Hospital stay. Abbey was the most efficient and competent nurse I had. She never wasted any energy, as if every motion had a purpose. Most importantly, she extended herself to make me as comfortable as possible when I was extremely uncomfortable most of the time. Her genuine concern and compassion for my well-being are still fresh in my memory two years later. I have regretted that I did not bring attention to what an excellent example of a nurse she is. My mother recently had surgery at Braselton, and while there, I encountered Abbey in the hall. I knew I could not let this opportunity go by without passing along my heartfelt appreciation towards her. She exhibited the highest standards of the nursing profession. You are fortunate to have a nurse like Abbey on your staff.
Thank you, Abbey R, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
