The nurses chosen for the DAISY Award must be willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to help care for patients, and exhibits excellent interpersonal skills, clinical skills, decision making capabilities, and consistent use of nursing process in patient care. This nurse must also be a great educator to patients and their families, model empathy and demonstrate a caring attitude in all situations.

"Not only is Acacia extremely competent, but she is extremely focused on creating a positive experience for her patients," said Kati. "She is very customer-service oriented, and very much a patient advocate. She is seen as a leader in FBC, and highly respected by her co-workers and our physicians. Acacia is hard working, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Her patients adore her and are so thankful for the care she provides."
