My 100-year-old mother-in-law was in the ACE unit at which time she passed away. The entire time she was with you, she received the most excellent, loving care. A number of individuals stood out:
Arianna Graziadei cared for her for several days during her stay. My wife and I observed her loving attention to anything that she needed. We saw her lovingly caress her forehead many times while administering meds and brought an iPad to play her favorite song, "God Will Take Care of You," and told her many times that she loved her. Arianna also encouraged my wife and me with hugs just when we needed them.
Alyssa Welch saw to her needs in record time. Whenever the call button was pressed, she was there in 30 seconds or less. She, too, was so compassionate and helped advise on additional meds as the pain increased. When we were overwhelmed with the meds schedule, she wrote an entire page describing everything so that we could better understand what was happening.
Tiffany Wilson took care of her several days and we could count on her prompt attention to whatever she required, also within seconds of our requests.
Leland Leaverton was also very attentive during her stay and extended great effort to make sure she was comfortable, especially in the last few days while she was in hospice care. He also made sure that my wife and I were well cared for, always asking if there was anything we needed while we were with her. Hugs were also a part of his care for us, and much appreciated.
All in all, we would not have changed anything about the care my mom received. We felt that God had provided the "Cream of the Crop", as it were, to care for her as she passed on into the loving arms of Jesus. The staff also cared for us as we attended to Mom by providing a break room and making sure we had everything we needed to spend several nights in her room. Whatever you are doing to select, train, and retain the medical professionals on that floor, keep doing it and make sure the rest of the hospital knows how you do it...for it is pure excellence. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
