This nurse was my mom’s nurse. Every evening I called for an update and this nurse was always patient when answering my questions and explaining my mom’s situation. This nurse was always honest in answers and assessment, but I felt this nurse was doing the best thing for my mom. This nurse would encourage her to get out of bed to keep fighting. Each time I called, and this nurse answered I was relieved when this nurse answered the phone because I felt this nurse would provide the best care and be in her corner fighting for her to recover. Even though I could not be with her, I felt relief when this nurse was there. Unfortunately, my mom passed, and I knew that night this nurse was not working. The next evening, I was surprised by a call from this nurse to offer condolences. I was so touched by the kindness. I cannot express how grateful I am to have this nurse have been my mom’s nurse. This nurse cares about patients and their families. She is definitely a class act and deserves to be recognized for compassion and kindness.
