During my stay at Stroger, Akilah displayed extraordinary compassion that far exceeded her daily expectation. She took care of me with pride and dignity. Akilah always made me feel special and made me feel like a "person" and not a "patient". Akilah takes pride and joy in her work in a way that her patients can feel her heartwarming compassion. I remember when Akilah wasn't assigned to me when she finished taking care of her own patients she came to assist my nurse with caring for me. That meant so much to me and I will never forget her for doing that.
