Alex was our relief CTL on a crazy night. CA demand was extremely high already when we got called a patient with history of being violent. Alex went above and beyond in advocating for our staff and safety. He escalated the admission to ensure the patient fit 3W criteria due to this patient previously needing to be a PICU admission and on teams of 1:1 or 2:1. Though the patient ended up on 3W Alex made sure the patient was given to a nurse with the safest team possible and secured public safety officers to sit with the patient to protect our staff. Alex took amazing care of the staff and actively protected us from potentially unsafe situations while also making sure we were able to provide quality care to our patients.
