My mother has been in the hospital for 2 weeks, she has had some great nurses but none as amazing as Alicia. She saw the entire patient in front of her and not just a chart or numbers. She went above and beyond to make sure we, the family, were informed about her care. She treated the patient with a level of respect and dignity every patient deserves. She provided comfort measures and basic hygiene that had been neglected. She treated the patient as a person and not just as a patient. She used her clinical knowledge to better her care for the patient- collaborating with other nurses and medical staff as needed to ensure the patient had the highest level of care. She never seemed bothered or like she didn’t have enough time to care for the patient or speak to the family. We were able to leave the patient for the day knowing she was in the absolute best hands possible. Alicia helped make the day brighter for all of us in an otherwise bleak situation, she is just amazing.
