Alicia Kitchen cared for this patient for two days. Throughout his rapid decline in health, she gave top notch care. Always making sure he was comfortable and his wishes met. On November 11 this patient was admitted to Hospice for end of life care, although we knew he wouldn't make it through the end of the shift. She stayed for periods of time with the family. She gave her full attention for 2 days to this patient and his family. As his time to pass on came, we (Alicia and I) had walked out of the building to go home. She decided to come back in to his room to say goodbye. She arrived but he had already passed. She said a prayer with the family before she left. Alicia is such a caring nurse! So sweet and thoughtful.
