Mrs. Alizia McMyers is an Extraordinary Nurse. She is a nurse who works hard for both the patient and nurses. She is fondly called Mrs. "Mac" because she is truly fierce with her special sauce and flare. Alizia is currently the LBU Vice President & NYSNA Health Hospitals/ Mayoral Executive Council Vice President. She has dedicated her career as an RN activist, marching in Washington, speaking in Albany, and in the local community. She uses her platform to protect the rights, health & safety of both patients and Registered Nurses in our Community. She ensures that services, policies, and regulations focus on meeting the patient's needs by ensuring the nurse's needs are met. She was very instrumental in securing a fair and equitable new contract with NYC as part of the negotiating committee. Her boldness in voicing the needs of NYC Nurses and safe patient staffing was a historical journey, and the NYC Public Sector nurses won their historical contract. In addition, Ms. McMyers is an advocate for patients to navigate the healthcare system, ensuring they are provided with safe and correct services through their medical care, billing, and educational needs. Ms. McMyers has been the voice for both the Patient and Nurses.
