I have two special needs children, and we have spent over a year in multiple hospitals and units. Several months of that time was spent in the PICU with Allison Ashworth. She is one of the best nurses I have encountered in all those units and hospitals.
My son was on a vent and oxygen when Allison was our nurse. Because she was there I could sleep comfortably. She gets to know her patients and knows them well, which is a comfort to parents of chronically sick kids. She is positive, funny, and kind. I only wish that our visit had more evenings with Allison as our nurse. She is everything good about this hospital, this unit, and the nurses. There were many times she bagged my son and answered my question, but what she really does best is provide parents with comfort.
