I was admitted on Saturday due to not feeling my baby move. Unfortunately, I lost my baby. Alyssa was my nurse when I transferred into the labor and delivery room. She held my hand while I laid in shock and cried. She was my nurse until her shift ended and she promised she would be back at 7:00 AM to be my nurse again. And she did come back. I only wanted my fiancé and her in the room for delivery and she coached me through everything and promised me everything was going to be okay. She truly was a savior to me for the type of delivery I was going through.
We connected a strong bond and Alyssa let me say anything about my baby and show me pictures. She told me she set up a photoshoot, so we had visuals to remind us of him. She also created a memory box and assisted us by getting his hand and footprint in clay. When it was finally time for her to leave, we embraced in a 5-minute hug and we cried together; she repeated how strong I am and how sorry she was that this had happened. Alyssa was over the top in service. She is truly an amazing human and was able to provide me with wonderful memories with my son.

My daughter came into labor and delivery 3 days before the delivery date with concerns that she hadn't felt baby movement in a while. Tragically, they could not find a heartbeat. Alyssa was a savior for my daughter and our family. Her calm, tender guidance and support were amazing. None of us know how to handle this or what to even say.
Alyssa stayed right by her side quietly reassuring and supportive coaching her through a delivery that will probably be the hardest thing she will ever have to do. My daughter said she coached her through everything she had to do.
Before Alyssa had her end of shift on the last day, she took so much care and time helping with pictures, creating a memory box and even took the baby for hand and footprints in a clay kit we bought. When she had to leave her shift, she held my daughter for a good 5 minutes and cried with her. I was so touched and grateful. Few people have the compassion and skills required to be a nurse and even fewer that can handle our tragedy with the grace and love Alyssa did. Thank you so much!
