My nurse, Amanda Lopez, has been outstanding and has gone above and beyond. Her care exceeded my expectations. She was very proactive in helping me get my prescription filled. It was an obscure prescription and hard to find. She has been very attentive to my needs. My family has had experience with other hospitals in the area and my level of care has exceeded all of them while I was at Parkland.

Amanda is special to our patients, her co-workers, and me, her manager. She truly loves taking care of patients as well as assisting the families through their sometimes life changing events. Amanda not only speaks with compassion but demonstrates compassion with her actions. She will always tell her co-workers "great job" after a difficult shift. Amanda is deserving of a DAISY Award because Amanda has been a DAISY to many patients as well as co-workers. Nurses daily do many of these tasks because it is what a nurse does. Amanda over and over does these tasks with the sincere compassion for her patients. It is not only what she does but it is the way she does it.
