Amanda was my nurse when I had my first round of cancer treatments, which I did not tolerate very well. I was so scared. She calmed my fears by being with me, listening to jokes our kids sent, and getting to know us. Amanda intervened on one of my most challenging days when I was so sick. She consulted with the doctor and pharmacist to see what could be done to make me more comfortable.
While I was in surgery, Amanda visited with my daughter and husband during her break. She also attended my bell ringing to celebrate my final round of treatment. We developed a lovely relationship with her and many of the outstanding nurses at the Cancer Center in La Crosse! She is a bright ray of sunshine and we consider her an angel in my cancer journey.
