Prior to my recent stays in the hospital, I had no idea how hard and complex a nurse's job is. A nurse needs to understand medicine, technology, equipment, doctor's orders, documentation, communication, and complete care of their patients. But also, nurses clean after patients. They roll us if we need to be rolled. They make our beds if we make messes (sometimes while we are in it). They do all these things compassionately, with empathy, showing kindness in the patient's time of need.  

Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system. I also learned that Certified Nursing Assistants are the nurses' support system. They do much of the hard labor when the nurse isn't available. They also treat patients with care, compassion, and empathy. A CNA has a hard, difficult job. 

The following professionals gave me quality care during my recent stay in the hospital, in October of 2023. Each individual shared their own personal style of care, enriching my healthcare experience. Many came to visit me just to check on me when I was no longer their patient. Each person is accountable, flexible, innovative, has integrity, is collaborative, caring, empathetic, diversity-minded, and works towards the best results for their patients. They truly are a patient's partner in healing. Please let them know my gratitude.

I also want to thank Yuan Du, the nurse manager. The work release you brought me satisfied my company's HR department. The Triad ointment worked miracles for my pain relief. The waffle cushion has helped me get things done while sitting. I also appreciate our conversations on food and my healthcare.
