Amber Holshue, BSN, RN, ENLS

Amber was my husband's nurse during his stay in Magee’s ICU unit. Although all the doctors and nurses were wonderful, Amber was exceptional. Not only was she knowledgeable and efficient with the treatment needed for my husband but she was exceptionally kind when caring for his personal needs. He can be difficult, and she was able to deal with his needs in a way he could relate which made him feel comfortable and confident he was getting the best care.

She also took the time to sit with me and explained everything that was happening and even had me sit in when the ICU doctors were giving morning updates with the nursing staff. She always made sure I was informed. I have been to many hospitals dealing with my husband's medical problems and this was the first time a nurse ever went to this length to keep me informed and get to know the patient's background like she did. I will never forget her kindness and her loving care for both of us.
