Amira is the very definition of an empathetic and compassionate nurse. She delivers care to anyone in need in a professional and caring manner. Her knowledge base, bedside manner, and skillset put patients and families at ease. A patient who frequents the ED and is often disgruntled and disheveled received extremely compassionate care from Amira. Amira took the time to ensure this patient received the utmost care, including a clean gown and sheets, educated him on his plan of care and admission, and provided him with an empathetic ear. Amira demonstrated basic human kindness to the patient, and he, in turn, opened up to her and was calm and cooperative throughout his stay. It was refreshing to see Amira in her element, providing the best care and having such a breakthrough with a patient who probably hasn’t received such amazing care ever. Amira is an amazing nurse, and I am proud to know her.
