Mercy Health - Fairfield Hospital
Amy stayed with me for the entire procedure. It ran into the evening and I'm sure her family needed her, but she wouldn't hear of leaving.
My husband was a patient at another facility for what we would find out was a heart issue. He needed a heart cath to figure out the root of the problem. I was nervous about him being so far away and a bit concerned about being at such a small hospital. Could they take care of him if a real problem came up? I was at work when I got the news, and I was talking about my concerns with my co-workers.
That is when Amy jumped in full mode to get him transferred to Mercy! She took me down to the heart doctors and made sure they could make the procedure happen ASAP. She made calls and kept in text contact with the nurse. As I'm making the arrangements to get him transferred to Mercy. Amy never left my side! Checking on me, making sure if I had any questions, she would answer them. She took me over to the cath lab and introduced me to the staff.
Reassuring me that Mercy had everything under control and would take great care of my husband. Amy stayed with me for the entire procedure. It ran into the evening and I'm sure her family needed her, but she wouldn't hear of leaving. Amy went above and beyond and is truly what a Mercy Nurse should be. I am not the best at putting my emotions and this experience into works. Mercy should be very proud to have Amy Callihan on staff.
