Several weeks after testing positive for COVID-19, this team member ended up in our Emergency Room and was admitted to the cardiac unit for a rapid heart rate. Once Amy found out she was a patient, Amy visited her regularly and kept a close eye on her, even writing down the number of her monitor to keep a close eye on her.

As the nomination reads, “From the moment she found out I was in the hospital, I felt like she became my family. She checked on me several times each shift she worked, stopped by on her way in and on her way off of shift, and she even took the time to come and sit down and not be in a hurry to leave….And to add to it, she brought me a beautiful plant with purple flowers. Amy helped me in my most vulnerable and weakest moment. She cared enough about me to go that extra mile which is what makes her an amazing nurse – my angel in scrubs!”

Not only is she proud to be a recipient of Amy’s exceptional care, but she is also proud to work alongside Amy. As she says, “Having her as my charge nurse, I have someone that I strive to be like. Everything she does, she does with 100% effort. She is such a great leader for us.”
