Amy is our CRNP in our SCN. She has always been a team player, helping answer phones, call bells, putting charts together when we are busy etc. On this particular day, we had a critically ill patient come in with an IUFD (fetal death), who needed an emergency c-section. Amy was not required to attend, but she did to help us out. She took this beautiful baby and preformed all the tasks to provide precious memories for the family. While the RN's on the floor were busy caring for the mother. Amy bathed the baby, dressed her, took photos, obtained foot prints and hand prints for mementoes. No family accompanied this patient, and the patient was under a general anesthesia. Amy made sure to care for this baby Angel until we stabilized the mother and could then take the time to care for the family during this painful time. I cannot stress how helpful Amy was to us that day. This is such a tragic circumstance that many try to ignore, but Amy stepped in with warmth and compassion to ensure that we captured the memories for a family whose child was born silent.
