Anahi Lopez, BSN, RN, CMSRN

My son was recently diagnosed with germ cell cancer. Between chemotherapy and sickness in between cycles, we have spent many days on the 5th floor of Rex. We have experienced many caring doctors, nurses, and assistants. One such nurse stands out above the rest, Anahi Lopez. Anna truly works through her heart. We could always tell she's doing a job she is passionate about. Even when my son was not her patient, she would jump in to help with chemo and meds or even retrieve his phone that accidentally got thrown down the laundry chute. I am sure digging through dirty sheets isn't in her job description. Anahi moves around the unit at double speed. No matter what we needed, she addressed it promptly.

This has been and continues to be a very difficult time for our family. Nurses like Ms. Lopez make hospital stays easier. Her professionalism always shows, and her compassion and kindness will never be forgotten.
