I witnessed an act of kindness where Andrea Doran went above and beyond and I want to thank her. While my dad was in the PCU, Mom and I went to visit him. We sat for a bit and I made a plan to come back for Mom later and I left. When I got back, Mom was in the reclining chair with her bare feet tucked under dad’s blankets with a white hospital blanket over her. She explained that while dad was sleeping, she closed her eyes and suddenly felt fabric touching her. She opened her eyes to see Dad’s nurse, Andrea, covering her with a blanket.

Andrea was responsible for the patients on PCU and probably a ton of other tasks I know nothing about and still, she noticed Mom – a visitor, a worried wife, was chilled and took care of her! That’s the sort of kindness you cannot teach. People either have that instinct or they don’t. Thank you, Andrea, for taking care of both of my parents. You truly represent the best of your profession.
