Recently, I had a total hysterectomy. One week later, I was in terrible pain, screaming in the emergency waiting room due to the severe cramping I was experiencing. I had an accident all over myself which could've been quite an embarrassment. But, this wonderful person named Andrea took me and made me feel comfortable with the help of others, I was cleaned up and she helped me feel human again. She held my hand and I was given something for the pain. She kept telling me I would be fine and assured me I did the right thing by coming in. I felt she treated me more like a friend than a patient under not so nice conditions. I was there for almost six hours and she came in and out to check on me. I had some tests done and she was with me until I was cleared to go home. She even found a few minutes to walk me to my car and made sure I was alright. She hugged me and I know I was touched by some very loving and caring hands and heart. I will never forget Andrea, and I wanted someone else to know what a wonderful nurse (friend) she is.
