Angela came to us the next morning after T's admission to Altru. She took charge of everything, monitoring T's temperature, fluid intake and food intake. She noticed T had nail polish on that might affect her O2 monitor and quickly removed it. She expressed general care for T including her emotional health. She brought in a wagon to ride around in. She had her daughter bring in nail polish to redo T's toes and have more "normal" time. She encouraged sunlight as well. She brought in as many beverages as possible and snack ideas to get T to eat and drink. She brought in a small fridge to store these for us. She weighed T to make sure there was no weight loss when a new antibiotic was started. She encouraged us to make sure when she was gone to address T's intake and inform the Doctor if it is inadequate. You can tell she is passionate about her patients and will go the extra mile for them to get better. She made my 5 year old feel comfortable even at her worst moments and we are very appreciative for having a nurse like Angela care for our Daughter.
