Cancer requires more than just medications. He needed to feel supported in all aspects, and she provided that to him time and time again.
My family first met Angie when she was working at the Palliative Care office at Apple Hill. My husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Angie broke through his wall, and he trusted her fully which is no easy feat!

He needed a lot of symptom management, and it felt his needs were constantly changing. Every time we called the office she responded to us right away. She discussed the options and helped him make decisions for his care, but she also cared about his mental and emotional well-being.

Cancer requires more than just medications. He needed to feel supported in all aspects, and she provided that to him time and time again. When she decided to move from Palliative Care, he was so sad. He received great care from the team who replaced her, but he missed the relationship he had with Angie.

Things took a turn for him, and he was admitted to the hospital. Angie came to visit him multiple times while he was there. She was an amazing source of comfort to him and our family, even though she was no longer an official part of his care team. She went above and beyond for him, and I know, because of her, his transition to home and to hospice was made easier. She has the biggest heart, and she knows how to communicate with patients and families during such difficult times. She was able to speak directly, but with a calming energy that is impossible not to trust and believe she is standing in your corner.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about her, and I know she was brought into his life for a reason. I know if he could have done it, he would have nominated her for every award in the world, but he passed at home. Even after his passing, Angie provided comfort to me, and I am forever grateful for her.
