Angela Mangicaro is an RN in the PACU and she is a clinical coach for us. Patients don't always remember PACU or their nurse in ICU but that is what makes her so special. She provides such personalized care that her patients often remember her and even take the time to write her a letter of thanks for the amazing compassionate care that she provides. Below are recent examples of cards that have been sent to the hospital for her. One is from a patient who was experiencing the loss of a child and Angela provided a shining example of compassionate care during their most difficult time. The other card highlights her excellent clinical assessment skills. She is truly a nurse advocate for her patients and works well with the whole interdisciplinary team to make sure that her patients receive excellent care and have positive outcomes.

We just wanted to say thank you for your kindness and support during the loss of our little one. We were so lucky to have you by my wife's side until I was able to be there. It may seem like something small to you, but it will forever be something we look back on and be thankful for.

I promise to live my life to the fullest and I will never forget the kindness that you extended to me. Please stop by my family wine bar for a glass on us!

You probably don't remember me, but exactly 12 weeks ago today, I came in for my first ever surgery. I had to have an ovarian cyst removed and you took such wonderful care of me and my family that day. I had some internal bleeding and they were having a hard time figuring it out, but you knew something wasn't right. I truly believe that your intuition and attentiveness saved my life. Even with the anesthesia, I remember how our conversation throughout the day cheered me up! We talked about being "Italian" and your son (which you don't look old enough to have)!
