Annie is a fantastic nurse who takes excellent care of all her patients. She develops a rapport with her patients and their families and has a knack for explaining things in an easy-to-understand way. Annie takes on her patients' problems.

Today, Annie had a patient who has been in the hospital for over a week between the PICU and the pediatric floor. The patient's mother confided in Annie that her blood sugar was high and she was feeling sick. Annie observed that mom was exhibiting symptoms of hyperglycemia, and when Annie asked her more questions, mom revealed that she takes insulin for her sugars and that she currently could not afford to fill her prescription. Annie coordinated getting the mom help, involving her managers and guest experience to help the patient's mother to cover the rest of the cost of the medication and to arrange transportation to and from the pharmacy.

Annie's efforts today are typical of problem-solving, attention to detail, persistence in finding a solution, and genuine care that she offers to every patient. Our pediatric patients are so lucky to have her as their nurse!
