I wanted to shoot a note to bring praise to our home nurse Anne M (we call her Annie). We started this program with my teen daughter who was pregnant. The doctor recommend the program and felt my daughter would be a great candidate for it. We had the pleasure of Annie being her son’s nurse. Her son had a pause in the program because he got sick and was diagnosed with leukemia. He is now in remission for three years. Once he was home from St Jude we were able to start visits back with the program. As a young mother, this program was very beneficial for her. Annie did such a tremendous job with her and her son helping coach her through motherhood and the struggles they faced from his sickness and how to progress forward. I then was surprised with a baby and enrolled in the program with the request I would have Annie. We are sad to be approaching our two-year limit. I really enjoy visits with Annie not only to track developmental progress but to have an understanding listening ear to the struggles of life and motherhood. I almost would consider her my therapist. My daughter’s father also enjoys these visits and participates from across the room. Annie truly has a passion for what she does and is a true asset to the Healthy Beginnings team. I have and will continue to recommend this program to all mothers in the community.
