She was able to go outside and feel the warm sun on her face, and the wind blowing through her hair. She was so happy and her whole family was able to be there with her. We now have a happy, beautiful, amazing memory of our mom in her dying moments. We will be forever grateful to Anxhela for all she did for us.
Our mother had been sick for about 2 months. In and out of CCU, ICU, regular hospital room, and rehab facility. The staff let us know that she was going to pass soon, and the family gathered around. On her last full day alive, our mom was asking to go outside. She incredibly was aware, awake, and very much her old self. We felt that this was her last wish. We made this request to Anxhela and she went above and beyond to make this happen for our mom. First, she called the maintenance department to see if we could get her window open but that was not an option. We suggested moving her whole bed out there but that wasn’t feasible either. Anxhela came up with the idea to transfer her with the hoyer lift to her recliner which has wheels. Our mom was in extreme pain to the touch, so she administered some pain medication about 15 minutes before transferring her to the recliner. After she was successfully transferred, she was able to go outside and feel the warm sun on her face, and the wind blowing through her hair. She was so happy and her whole family was able to be there with her. It was absolutely amazing. Anxhela was so compassionate as a nurse, and our request, and she absolutely made it happen. Our mother unfortunately passed in the early morning hours of the following day. We now have a happy, beautiful, amazing memory of our mom in her dying moments. We will be forever grateful to Anxhela for all she did for us. Thank you so much!
