Asha Demski, RN

My dad was transferred from Marshfield Clinic to Aspirus just four days after my mom's funeral and had open heart surgery two weeks after my mom passed. My dad, brother, and I were already going through a difficult time grieving the loss of our mom and wife, then to find out my dad needed a difficult surgery done was not something we were mentally prepared for.

The entire staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital was amazing to work with and provided excellent care, but I specifically wanted to recognize Asha in the Cardiac ICU. She was the nurse who worked the majority of the time with my dad, and I can't express how grateful we were to have had her care for my dad. She was so compassionate, patient, and down to earth. She provided excellent care to my dad and also comforted me daily as I continued to grieve the loss of my mom while I visited my dad. She made sure I was getting enough rest and caring for myself since that's something I easily forgot to do with how much I was going through. My dad also continues to talk about how much of a difference Asha made in my dad's life after the time he spent in the hospital. Asha is a true example of a nurse going above and beyond for a patient.
