My dad came in with multiple problems, several tests, and procedures. We are still going to be here a while, but I wanted to recognize the nurses. They are all wonderful, but Ashton stands out the most, maybe because she had him 50% of the time. There is one word for her and that is extraordinary. She was/is very compassionate, nice, and attentive. She was in his room multiple times per hour checking on him, always with a smile and kind words. She always explained what she was doing or what she was giving him. She was tender and careful when working with him as he was so short of breath and had very poor skin.
Ashton had good, solid communication skills and was very organized. She was flexible and paid attention to detail with great interpersonal skills too while always being professional yet friendly. She was always very humble when we tried to thank her for anything. She encompasses a nurse as they should be. She was there even before we thought we needed her, here she would come. You can tell in her mannerisms that she has integrity. She communicated on a level that my parents could understand.
Ashton has a purpose and exemplified this through her perseverance in the care setting. She is a passionate, dynamic person and inspires others. She is a highly empathetic nurse who is never in a hurry and makes you feel like you are her only patient. She provides individual, personalized care. She also had a lot of patience. I am a nurse myself and I know how hard the job is, but she just seems to flow right through it. She listened if we had questions or concerns and if she did not know the answer, she did what was needed to get the answer. She is a dedicated nurse who has humor with nursing intuition and not every nurse has that. Our family cannot thank her enough for all she did. She is one of the most dedicated, intelligent, strong, reliable, generous, and elegant nurses I have ever known. Thank you is not enough, but it is all I know to say.
