My son had been so distressed and having a nurse take time out of her busy day to reassure a three-year-old was admirable.
Aubrey is so sweet and is an amazing nurse! My three-year-old has had some hard/traumatic experiences lately regarding hospitals. His great-grandmother went to the hospital and passed shortly after. His other great-grandmother was hospitalized and had to be sent to a memory care unit, and his grandfather was sent to a hospital for medical issues and is now in a wheelchair. My son did not realize that I could go to the hospital and come back okay.

I explained the situation to Aubrey, and she took the time to explain to my toddler that his momma was going to be okay; she just had to have her appendix taken out and she is all better now and will be coming home soon! My son's uncle said that my son smiled for the first time that day, because of Aubrey.  He had been so distressed and having a nurse take time out of her busy day to reassure a three-year-old was admirable.

Additionally, both my three-year-old and my one-and-a-half-year-old daughter have Cystic Fibrosis. Of course, my children are not Aubrey's patients; they're at home. Aubrey took the time to ask questions and learn more about Cystic Fibrosis. I truly believe the mark of a good provider is curiosity and yearning to continue learning. Aubrey encapsulated the empathy it takes to be an amazing nurse, and I am incredibly grateful for her.
