Auriel Whitmore, BSN, RN

Auriel was there for me during one of the scariest moments of my life. I went into labor. I had gone into labor at 30 weeks, and 2 days, and was brought over to SNGH in an ambulance. After lots of examinations, Nurse Auriel was there for me through numerous contractions. She talked me through all of them. I was having lots of bleeding during that time, and she cleaned me up. This sounds so simple, but she made me feel more like a person and not just another patient.

Unfortunately, I suddenly started losing a lot of blood. Auriel held my hand and immediately got more support. She was truly an angel at a time when I was so scared. My husband had just gone home with this happened, so I was blessed to have a nurse like her there with me. During the time I lost a lot of blood, I lost one of my earrings. I told the nurses it really wasn't a big deal. But Auriel and another nurse found my earring and brought it to my son's NICU room a couple of weeks after my son was born. Ariel is truly a gift to SNGH and made my birth experience so much less scary. I appreciate her more than she will ever know.
