I've been treated for breast cancer for the last eight years. Last January, I started my last 4 rounds of Chemotherapy. The Nurse Navigator who was assigned to me, Barb Jensen, was great. I am so blessed to be a patient under the care of this lady who was one of the most kind, compassionate and understanding nurses that I have ever met. She was so wonderful and has a heart of gold.
Barb came to see me at every single chemo treatment that I had at Advocate South Suburban Hospital. It was always a pleasure to see her even just for a brief minute.
Barb is a doll, full of smiles, friendly and professional. She was with me after my surgery, helping in whatever way she could, changing my bandages, fitting the corset on me, explaining the drains and how to manage them. She called to check on me when I came home from the hospital.
Barb is not only a fantastic oncology nurse, but a "Jack of all Trades". She truly defends/advocates for her patients. I have had several administrative issues within the hospital, such as tests ordered, I reached out to her, as I could not figure out what was going on. Barb coordinated with another associate and was able resolve the issue for me.
