Our son was admitted for pancreatitis on 12/31/11. Although the care of all Children’s staff members have been outstanding, as always, Barb’s service has been noteworthy. Proactive, personable, genuine and caring are only a few descriptors that come immediately to mind. Additionally, she also was able to recognize that the potassium allergy noted for him was a probable clinical error; she then took steps to correct that mistake, which allowed for the introduction of an IV combo solution central to addressing some heart concerns on going at that time. Over the four consecutive days that she was our day nurse, she helped us successfully travel a challenging path towards recovery with grace, thoughtfulness, and compassion. Thanks Barb!”

Barb is an excellent nurse who is always a team player. She is always relaxed and always has a positive attitude. We had a difficult family that she was primary for, and she handled herself so well. She kept communication open among the family, medical team and leadership. Even after really, busy and stressful days, she always kept a smile on her face. She always is willing to help her teammates. She also is a strong advocate for patients and their families. If I had a child here at the hospital, I would want her as his/her nurse because I know they would be well taken care of.
