Barbara always has a smile on their face. She gets along with everyone and has great teamwork skills. She offers a helping hand to anyone in need. During a code blue, Barbara remained calm and performed the guidelines required for the code correctly. She is a very skilled nurse, performing all her duties with a smile on her face.
When rounding, a family described Barbara's care so perfectly. The patient was developmentally delayed and family was present with the patient. The family member stated despite the patient's limitations Barbara spoke to her, not at her. This made such an impression on the family.
One morning the patient needed to be cleaned up and instead of Barbara calling for someone else to address, she so compassionately and lovingly handled the situation. She took a potentially embarrassing or humiliating situation for the patient and addressed the need while maintaining the patient's dignity and comfort. She continually reassured the patient and asked if everything was okay, did she feel better. We have been blessed with wonderful nursing care.
