Bernice came on shift to the delivery of tiny twins born at 20 weeks both alive at birth but too young to survive. She bonded with the mom and her babies; deeply caring for all 3. she bathed and dressed the babies for baptism and arranged for the chaplain to attend. she contacted social work to set up an affordable cremation. When I entered the room, 12 hours later, the babies were outfitted in almost matching outfits, white with pale green trim, indicating the fact of being twins yet honoring their individualism.
