Although Beth has gone above and beyond for several of my patients regardless of whether they belong to her or not I had a particular patient that she really impressed me with her compassion. My patient was an elderly gentleman with a SBO. He also likely had some underlying dementia because he was extremely confused and hallucinating. As he sat there the patient became more agitated and anxious. Family decided hospice, but Beth stayed with him the whole time until he was discharged. She helped him stand to use the restroom, she talked to him until he calmed down and she kept reorienting him. It was touching to see her be so compassionate with this patient that was dying and had no family at the bedside. As amazing as she is as an RN, she is just as amazing as a person. That is just one of several times I have witnessed her going above and beyond for her patients and their families.
