Our lives were turned upside down the moment our daughter was admitted to the Marshfield Children’s Hospital. I remember the 50-minute drive to the hospital and how scared my husband, daughter, and I were. Once at the hospital we grabbed our stuff and walked to our assigned room. We were greeted by the most friendly and caring face. That face belonged to RN, Betty Minton. She was assigned to be our room monitor that day. We had so many people coming in and out of our room and it was Betty who helped ease our worries. We were fortunate to have Betty several times as our monitor. My daughter really formed a bond with Betty along with my husband and me. Betty was so sweet to play games with us and introduced us to games that we have never played before. There was always a lot of laughter, great conversation, care, and concern when Betty was around. Betty even made sure the day that our daughter was released from the hospital, was a special day. Betty truly went above and beyond her job expectation for our daughter and family. I am forever grateful to Betty our “Angel” during our 3-week hospital stay.
