She had a patient who was recovering from surgery. The patient had prescriptions ordered that had accidentally been sent to the wrong pharmacy. The pharmacy was closed when they came out of surgery and had not processed the prescriptions to allow their transfer to another in the same chain. Our Pint Size Prescriptions Outpatient Pharmacy was closed early so that was not an option for the family. She contacted the surgeon and had them re-route the prescriptions to an outside pharmacy close to Children's. The patient was here with only her mother who did not know where the pharmacy was located and did not drive to the hospital. She walked the patient's mother to the pharmacy, waited for her to get the child's prescriptions, and walked her back to the hospital so she wouldn't get lost. She went above and beyond for this family to ensure they had the medications they needed prior to discharge.
