Bobby had a trauma patient who was very ill and going downhill quickly one night. I was able to witness him and his persistence with advocating for his patient to get the trauma doctor who was on call that night to the bedside multiple times to assess the patient regardless of what else was going on for this doctor. Bobby stood his ground and advocated all night for this patient who unfortunately did not make it through the night. Bobby made phone call after phone call and paged the MD multiple times. Bobby stood his ground and did everything he could for this patient and advocated for the best care for this patient during his last hours with us. Bobby then showed the patient so much dignity with care and preparation for the family to come to pay their respects. I would be grateful to have a nurse like Bobby care for my loved ones during a critical time in their life.
